Rx Ready Notifications
Nimble now lets you send patients an automatic text the moment their refill is ready — so they know exactly when to come in without calling the pharmacy first. This feature is opt-in and off by default. You turn it on when you're ready.
1. Overview
When you enable this feature, Nimble sends your patient a text as soon as their refill is ready based on your pharmacy's timing settings. The text goes out at the right moment — not too early, and not after the patient has already picked up.
This is separate from your order confirmation message. You can have both, one, or neither — they do not affect each other.
2. Who Can Use This Feature
This feature is available to Collect retail pharmacies. It is not available if your pharmacy already receives ready-for-pickup texts through a specialty setup — you are already covered and will not see the toggle.
To use this feature, After Purchase messaging must be enabled in your Comms Center. If it is turned off, you will see a notice in your Refill Settings tab with a link to re-enable it.
3. How to Turn It On
- Log in to your Pharmacy Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Refill Settings tab.
- Locate the Refill ready-for-pickup SMS toggle.
- Flip the toggle to on.
- The change takes effect immediately — no save button needed.
To turn it off at any time, return to the same toggle and flip it off.
4. What Your Patient Receives
When the refill is ready, your patient will receive a text that looks like this:
[Pharmacy name]: Hi [first name], your [medication name] is ready to pick up. Head over when you are ready.
5. When the Text Is Sent
The timing depends on how your pharmacy is configured:
To review or update your packaging time, go to your Refill Settings tab.
6. How to Check When a Text Was Sent
If a patient asks whether they received a notification, you can look it up in the Comms Center.
- Log in to your Pharmacy Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Comms Center.
- Search for the patient.
- Look under the After Purchase section to see the message and the timestamp it was sent.
7. Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace my order confirmation message? No. The ready-for-pickup text and the order confirmation are separate messages. Turning one on or off does not affect the other.
What if my After Purchase messaging is turned off? You will see a notice in your Refill Settings tab letting you know the feature is not available until After Purchase messaging is re-enabled. Follow the link in the notice to turn it back on in your Comms Center.
Can I see if a patient received the text? Yes. Go to the Comms Center, search for the patient, and look under the After Purchase section. You will see the message and the time it was sent.
What if the patient's refill is ready outside of pharmacy hours? The text will not go out until your pharmacy is open. Nimble uses your configured pharmacy hours to determine when it is appropriate to send.
I don't see the toggle in my Refill Settings tab — why? If you do not see the toggle, your pharmacy either uses a specialty setup that already includes ready-for-pickup texts, or you are a Connect pharmacy. In both cases you are already covered and the toggle is not needed.
