As the year comes to a close, pharmacies have a valuable opportunity to re-engage patients and capture revenue that might otherwise go untapped. Nimble’s annual Historical Fills Campaign helps partner pharmacies do just that — encouraging patients to fill outstanding prescription refills before year-end.

What Is the Historical Fills Campaign?

Each year, Nimble identifies patients with eligible refill prescriptions that haven’t yet been filled and encourages those patients to refill before December 31. This proactive communication not only helps pharmacies boost revenue but also supports patients in staying on track with their treatment plans, strengthening adherence and trust in their pharmacy.

How It Works

Participating is simple. Once a pharmacy opts in, Nimble’s Customer Success team manages the entire process — from identifying eligible prescriptions to coordinating patient communication.Pharmacies can also customize their participation by excluding specific medications, NDCs, or patients to fit operational preferences.

Compliance Reminder


All patient communications adhere to quiet-hour guidelines and are delivered at appropriate times. Patients can opt out of this campaign at any time by clicking the link in their message, which takes them to their online refill cart. In the cart, patients can “Decline All Refills” or remove individual prescriptions. Removing or checking out a prescription will stop all future text reminders for that item.

Message Goal


Patients are encouraged to refill before December 31, helping them stay on track with treatment and make the most of their FSA, HSA, or deductible benefits before any potential year-end resets.


Message Cadence


Patients will receive their first message sometime between November 24-December 12
Patients will receive their first message between these dates, followed by additional messages approximately every 4 days until the campaign is complete.

Proven Results

Last year, 182 partner pharmacies participated in the Historical Fills Campaign, generating an additional 75,000 fills across the network. Participating pharmacies saw increased revenue, stronger patient engagement, and more consistent refill activity leading into the new year.

Can certain medications or NDCs be excluded?
Yes. You can provide a list of NDCs you’d like excluded, and Nimble will share it with the lifecycle team for processing.

Can certain patients be excluded?
Yes. You can submit a list of patients (including name and date of birth) to be excluded. Nimble will confirm once those exclusions are complete.

How many messages are sent?
The lifecycle team monitors frequency to avoid overcommunication. Message volume may vary, but the goal is to remind patients about prescriptions still available for purchase before year-end.
