How Do I Request Insurance Information From a Patient?
Requesting Insurance Information from Patients
- Navigate to the Patient Search page.
- Type in the name or date of birth of the patient and click on their name in the search results to see their profile.

- Scroll down to the Insurance info section.
- If there is no insurance on file for the patient, select the option titled "Request patient to provide an image of their insurance card. Insurance was not found in pharmacy system."
- If insurance is on file but needs updating, the Request Insurance Update button will send a message to the patient asking them to upload a photo of their current insurance card.
- When the patient submits their insurance, it will appear on your [link: Task Dashboard] as an Insurance Task.
- From this task, you can review the image they provided, add notes, and accept their insurance submission ("Save insurance information" → "Complete Task" at the bottom of the task).
- If the image they submitted does not meet the requirements you need, you can request that the patient upload a new image using the “Request Insurance Update” button.
