Helping your patients stay on track with their medicine just got much easier. With Nimble Connect Refills, your pharmacy can automatically send reminders, collect patient consent, and receive refill requests directly in your system.
This update handles the "busy work" of chasing refills so your team can focus on the patients in front of them.
How It Works
We’ve designed a simple, 2-step journey to keep your refill queue full:
- Setting the Preference: After a patient picks up a prescription, they get a quick text asking how they want future refills handled: ALWAYS (Automatic) or ASK (Remind me).
- The Smart Reminder: Three days before they run out, Nimble sends a text based on their choice.
- Direct to Your PMS: Once the patient confirms, the request drops directly into your refill queue. No manual typing or phone calls required!
Two Ways Your Patients Get Refilled
Every patient is different. We give them two easy options:
1. The "Automatic" Option
Best for patients who want a "set it and forget it" experience.
- The Message: "Hi [Name], we are scheduled to prepare your refill for [Medication]. To skip or cancel, click here: [Link]."
- The Action: If the patient is happy to proceed, they don't have to do anything! The request will appear in your system automatically.
2. The "On-Demand" Option
Best for patients who want to authorize every fill.
- The Message: "Hi [Name], you may be running low on [Medication]. Click here to request your refill: [Link]."
- The Action: The patient clicks the link to "Opt-In," and the request is sent to you immediately.
Timing & Details
- 3-Day Lead Time: We send reminders 3 days before the refill is due so you have plenty of time to prepare the medication.
- Respectful Messaging: Texts are only sent between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. No late-night pings for your patients.

Which systems does this work with?
Currently, this is available for pharmacies using PioneerRx, DRX, BestRx, and LibertyRx.
How do I see these requests?
They drop right into your existing PMS refill queue. In your Nimble dashboard, these tasks will be marked as "complete" automatically so you don’t have to double-check them.
Do I have control over these texts?
Yes. You can manage these in your Communication Center under "After Purchase" settings. You can turn them off at any time, though keeping them on is the best way to grow your refill volume.
Can a patient change their mind?
Yes! Patients can easily switch between "On-Schedule" and "On-Demand" reminders using the link in any text we send them.
